TODDINGTON CASTLE

Bedfordshire

Toddington Castle, Bedfordshire

Perhaps the most interesting things about Toddington Castle, also known as Conger Hill, are the legends associated with it.  Every Easter the local children roll painted eggs down it's side and on Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) it is said, that if you put your ear to the ground on the top of the motte, you can hear the witch imprisoned inside cooking her pancakes!

The Castle is located on common ground near the Church.
