ROS CASTLE

Northumbria

Ros Castle, Northumbria

This badly eroded Iron Age Hill Fort stands on a high hill near Chillingham.  Whilst the Fort itself is in poor condition, it has one of the most staggering views in England.

From here you can see Lindisfarne and the Farnes to the east, the Cheviot Hills to the North, as far as Newcastle-upon-Tyne to the south and (incredibly) the Solway Firth to the west.
