NORRIS CASTLE
Isle of Wight

Built in 1799 by James Wyatt, for Lord Henry Seamore. A very well executed Gothick construction. George IV stayed there in 1819 and the future Queen Victoria in 1831.
During the 1960s and 1970s the grounds were open to the public and the BBC filmed a 1972 episode of Doctor Who here. Today, it is now sadly very private, and despite all efforts to contact the owners, we were unable to even get a reply.
The picture above was taken by Andrew from a cruise ship as it left Southampton.
