WALTON ON THE HILL CASTLE

Walton on the Hill Castle, Surrey

This early period ringwork seems to have been replaced by the 14th Century by the adjoining hall which dates from that period. It's remaining history is unclear, and it is included here mainly because it is a well-preserved handsome earthwork and is one of the closest of such to London.
