THE RINGS

Loddiswell, Devon

The Rings, Loddiswell, Devon

This particularly handsome motte and bailey Castle stands in one corner of a large Iron Age Hill Fort which provides some excellent views down the valleys of the "South Hams" of Devon.

The Rings, as they are known, have an obscure history - aside from being early Norman - but they are another excellent example of a motte and bailey and worth a visit for their position alone.

They are on public land and accessible at all times.
