CASTLES OF SUTHERLAND

At present we haven't visited any Castles in this County.

Map of Sutherland

Bleak and dramatic Suthoerland is the second most northerly of the mainland counties of Scotland. It has both east and west coasts and is largely mountainous throughout. There are few large settlements in the county,  amongst the largest are Dornoch, Durness, Golspie and Lairg.

Like the other extreme northern counties there is a smaller number of Castles than further south, but amongst those in Sutherland is the famous Dunrobin Castle.
