CASTLES OF RENFREWSHIRE

At present we haven't visited any Castles in this County.

Map of Renfrewshire

The small county of Renfrewshire sits immediately west of Glasgow, and indeed part of the City falls within its ancient boundaries and as the county approaches that city it becomes increasingly urban. It is largely rolling countryside dominated by the Clyde Valley in the north. The main settlement is Paisley with other towns including Greenock, Renfrew and Johnstone.

There are a large number of Castles in the county due to its position on the River, the best known is probably Newark (not to be confused with the one in Nottinghamshire).
