NEWINGTON BAGPATH CASTLE

Newington Bagpath Castle, Gloucestershire

This handsome motte is most noticeable for its beautiful position in the depths of the Cotswold countryside. The approach road passes a second Castle, a platform motte known as Lasborough Castle.  Little history seems to be available for either of these Castles, but Newington Bagpath Castle in particular is worth a visit just for the wonderful surrounding scenery.
