Maiden Castle, North Riding of Yorkshire

This Iron Age Hill Fort stands deep in the Yorkshire Dales and is as much remarkable for its beautiful, if bleak, surroundings than the Fort itself which is a fairly standard single ditched construction.

We have been able to find virtually no useful information on the Castle, but have included it here because we like the atmosphere of the photo!
