INVERNESS

URQUHART

The large county of Inverness-shire is the ultimate Highland county of Scotland. Dominated on the mainland by Loch Ness and the Great Glen it is prime tourist location and has landscapes that typify what people think of as Scottish. The Isle of Skye and half of the Outer Hebrides are also part of Inverss-shire as is the far off distant outpost of St. Kilda.

There are relatively few Castles in the county for its size, but this is partly due to the mountainous landscape. It does, however, contain two of the most photographed of all Scottish Castles - Urquhart on the shores of Loch Ness and Inverness Castle overlooking the City of the same name.
