HARLEQUIN'S CASTLE

Buckinghamshire

Harlequin's Castle, Buckinghamshire

The attraction of Harlequin's Castle is not the shallow square moat itself whose origins are as shrouded in mystery as its name, but rather in its situation at the very heart of Burnham Beeches, one of the few pieces of "the old wild wood" left this close to London.

A beautiful place to visit, particularly on a sunny Autumn day, and all common land.
