East
Lothian is the coastal county to the direct east of Edinburgh, it is
mildly hilly with a stunning cliff-strewn coast and a good scattering
of impressive Castles. The main towns are North Berwick, Dunbar and
Haddington with mostly rural landscape slowly becoming more urban as
you approach the Scottish Capital.
Two Castles in particular stand out, the
solid Dirleton Castle and standing on the rugged coast is Tantallon
Castle, overlooking the huge bulk of the Bass Rock which itself has a
Castle on it.
