CASTLES OF DENBIGHSHIRE

At present we haven't visited any Castles in this county

Map of Denbighshire

Denbighshire is one of those counties that gets hurried through by people on their way to the spectacle of Snowdonia. The area is not without its charms including as it does Llangollen, one of Wales' most beautiful towns and the home of the International Eisteddfod. Other towns include Wrexham, Ruthin, Denbigh and on of the smallest cities in Britain, St. Asaph. It also has a tiny bit of coast on the north coast of Wales and parts of Snowdonia edge the county. In 1974 the county was absorbed into Clwyd, it is now a county once more, although the borders are different to the traditional county whose borders we are using here.

The area has a good selection of Castles, including those at Denbigh, Chirk and Ruthin as well as Powis Castle.
