CUBLINGTON CASTLE
Buckinghamshire

This extensive motte and bailey overlooking the Vale of Aylesbury is perhaps the best preserved in Buckinghamshire, although it isn't very tall, it does offer some nice views across the Vale.
It's history is fairly shrouded in mystery, although it seems likely to have been built quite early on in Norman times due to its obviously strategic position.
The Castle is on farmland, with a footpath running along one side of it.
