Berwickshire
is a small county on the east coast which is one of the Border Counties
with England. The landscape is similar to that of Northumberland to the
south, hilly but not mountainous with the largest communities scattered
along the coast line. Strangely neither Berwick-upon-Tweed nor North
Berwick are in Berwickshire! The largest towns are Duns inland and Eyemouth on the Coast.
Although it has a large number of
Casrtles, few are in good condition and it is one of the lesser
castle-hunting counties along either side of the border.
