Ayrshire
is a coastal county in Southern Scotland, to the immediately south west
of Glasgow. It is one of the less mountainous counties of Scotland
centred around the City of Ayr itself. It is also well-known for its
Robert Burns connections around Alloway and the Brig o'Doon. Other
towns include Kilmarnock, Largs, Irvine and Girvan. The area as you
approach the edges of Glasgow becomes more built up, although no actual
areas of Scotland's biggest city fall within Ayrshire.
There are a large number of Castles throughout including some of the best known, such as Culzean.
