The county of Argyll sits in the North West of Scotland and is made up of a series of peninsulas and islands, lochs and mountains. It is an area of extreme beauty with so many of the landscapes that typify Scotland. Oban is the largest town, with other towns including Campbeltown, Inverary and Tobermory. Amongst the best known islands are Mull, Iona, Islay and Jura.

It also has a good scattering of Castles around both the mainland and island parts of the county without having a real standout superstar Castle..
