MUCHELNEY CHURCH
Somerset
Another place in Somerset better known for its Abbey, the Church dates to the Saxon period. Nothing remains of that early church, but what stands today is largely 15th Century, including the tower dating to 1468 which is a likely date for completion of this version of the church. It is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul.
The interior has some rather racy Jacobean paintings on the ceiling of bare-breasted angels.
