CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF THE DORMITION OF THE MOST HOLY MOTHER OF GOD AND HOLY ROYAL MARTYRS
Gunnersbury, Middlesex
The parish had been established since at the turn of the 19th Century into the 20th. However, worshippers had been moved from one church to another for many years.
In 1992 the parish brought a plot of land in Harvard Road, Chiswick. A hall was quickly built on the land and used a temporary church whilst money was raised for construction of the new Cathedral.
The foundation stone was laid in November 1997 and in 1999 the first service was held. Since that time the distinctively Russian blue dome with golden cross was added to the church. Work is still continuing but 80% of the work is now complete.
