It would be nice for once if there was no rain
Everytime I leave the house
If I could walk down the street
Without getting a good douse.

If I could leave the umbrella indoors for once
It would make a pleasant change
To not get soaked by sleeting drops
Is that so very strange?

I mean is it so much to ask for sunny days
After all I'm not a flower
I won't curl up and die after a while
If I don't get a regular shower.

But I look out of the window and once again
The sky is wet and grey
So I splash down the street and into the light
Of another English day.
