Monday Morning, Nine to Five

by Roy Barton

Waking up, so hard to do
Still got to see the day through
Get the Alka-Seltzer from the drawer
Don't really want to take it anymore
Get the banging out of your head
Saturday night still going on instead.

And you know it's hard to survive
The Monday morning, nine to five.

Looking out for what you find
Still trying to get peace of mind
Going to work cold as ice
Workers running around like mice
Traffic means you get delayed
You're over-worked and under-payed.

And you know it's hard to survive
The Monday morning, nine to five.

Having to see people all day
Having to listen to what they say
They try to tell you how to do your work
You're just about to go bezerk
Glad to see today's nearly done
But it's too late to have any fun.

And you know it's hard to survive
The Monday morning, nine to five.
