Look At This Land

by Roy Barton

See all the soil they're turning
Look at this land
See all the waste they're burning
Look at this land.

See all the people crying
Look at this land
See all the children dying
Look at this land.

Wasted institutions are tearing us apart
Ripping at our conscience
Pulling at our heart
Never knowing when to end
Not knowing where to start.

Calloused hands
Sunburnt back
Weary eyes
That daren't look.

See all the soil they're turning
Look at this land
See all the waste they're burning
Look at this land.

See all the people crying
Look at this land
See all the children dying
Look at this land.

So look at the man
See if he cares
Look at the priest
Saying his prayers
And see if we care
See if we care.

Throwing in a freakshow, blocking our path
Not knowing where to put our eyes
Not knowing if to laugh
We shield our mind from thought
Forgetting what we're taught.

See all the soil they're turning
Look at this land
See all the waste they're burning
Look at this land.

See all the people crying
Look at this land
See all the children dying
Look at this land.
