INCE CASTLE

Cornwall

Ince Castle, Cornwall

Although not really a Castle, Ince is a handsome building, which has at least tried to look like one!

Despite trying to fake its own age as 1540, it was probably built in the 16th century.  The Castle is quadrangular in plan and has "corner towers" like a real Castle might.  Further changes were made to the building as recently as the 1920s.

The building is very prettily put together, with contrasting building materials, and a well tempered garden which provides some pleasant views of the building at its heart.

The gardens are open to the public during the summer months on certain days.
