HARVEY THE REMARKABLE CAT

Andrew J. Müller

A fluffy purring bundle
Curled up on his human’s lap
Is Harvey the ginger cat
Having his daily nap.

A smile was on Harvey’s face
For he was having a wonderful dream
He was by a warm log fire
Drinking a bowl of cream.

His human was a girl called Jane
Who loved Harvey like he loved her
She spent hours stroking his belly
Making him loudly purr.

Somedays, though, Harvey was naughty
He’d drag his claws in the floor
And climb up the curtains too
Or sit miaowing by the bedroom door.

He’d often run around the house
And jump around and up and down
But you couldn’t stay angry with him
For Harvey was a pussy-cat clown.

When Harvey was playing
You couldn’t stop a smile
He’d chase his tail and roll around
And fall asleep after a while.

Harvey was a mog of a kind so rare
There could be no doubt of that
Everyone who knew him
Thought Harvey was a remarkable cat.
