Warwick Castle
Warwickshire is Shakespeare's County and the Bard of Avon's presence is dominant in an otherwise unremarkable county of quite flat hills (in the centre and south) and unpretty industrial towns (in the north). Both Birmingham and Coventry were once in Warwickshire (removed in 1974 into the West Midlands) thus depriving Warwickshire of any of its cities.
Warwickshire is, however, blessed with two of the best Castles in the country so close together they can be visited together in one day - those at Warwick and Kenilworth.
