"WESTERN" EUROPE
We have split Europe into "West" and "East" because, predictably enough,
it is the continent we have visited most frequently. Of course, these
days the distinction between "East" and "West" is even more spurious than
it ever was. For our purposes we have drawn a line down the eastern
side of Germany, Austria and Italy but including Scandinavia. Thus,
against normal convention, we have placed Greece and Cyprus in
Eastern Europe - which is where they geographically
belong.
