CASTLES OF RADNORSHIRE
At present we haven't visited any Castles in this county
Radnorshire - which today forms the central part of Powys - is one of the remotest places in Britain. Only one town of any size exists, Llandrindod Wells, in the far south of the county. Much of the county is impenatrable mountains with just one or two ways to get from east to west along dramatic mountain passes - the most picturesque of which is the Elan Valley, quite possibly the most beautiful route in all of Wales.
Because of its remoteness and the harsh nature of the landscape there were virtually no Castles built in the county and hardly anything remains with stonework today.
