CASTLES OF MERIONETHSHIRE
At present we haven't visited any Castles in this county
Merionethshire, now part of Gwynedd, is a mix of mountains and fertile river valleys. The county was also the heart of the Welsh Slate Industry and towns such as Dolgellau and Blaenau Ffestiniog. In the north Snowdonia begins to rise and in the east are the Cambrian mountains keeping Merionethshire remote and making it one of the bastions of the Welsh language.
A few Castles are spread across the county with the best by far being Harlech. Lake Bala sits on the eastern edge of the county and Barmouth on the coast is one of Wales' foremost seaside resorts.
