1986 was the year it all began. Andrew, Roy and Shaun had left school the previous year. Roy had purchased a cheap (and somewhat ancient) Zenith camera and brought it down to Andrew's to take some photos. A few days later they phoned up Shaun and together with another friend of Andrew's, Darren McShea, they had the first full Raving Loony photo session on 12th May 1986. There is only one photo of the trio from that session and that is the first picture in this Gallery. Initially the pictures were fairly straight-forward, each having a misty-look imparted by Roy's Zenith. As the year progressed they began to experiment with lighting and timer shots, pointing the way towards 1987 - the year of experimentation. |
