GALLERY '93: Picture Three
Andrew on Holy Island, or Lindisfarne, with the Castle behind him.
Lindisfarne is one of those fascinating islands that is only an island at high tide and is joined to the mainland by a causeway at low tide. The causeway to Lindisfarne is big enough to drive a car over!
Lindisfarne gained the name Holy Island because of its connections with Saint Cuthbert and its place in British Christian History. As well as the Castle the island also has a famous Abbey.
This picture was taken by Roy on 5th July 1993.
