GALLERY '92: Picture Twelve
On another break from visiting Castles whilst in Durham, Andrew and Roy went to see High Force Waterfall on the River Tees. They misread a sign saying there was a way across the Tees upstream and started walking west (they should have headed east!). Here they had walked some way slip and sliding on wet rocks, it had just finished raining rather hard (see Picture Fifteen).
After this brief dabble with wading they decided that the River didn't look too deep, so they would wade across to the other side. This they did, although it turned out that the River was at least waist deep. They must have made an odd site, Andrew holding his camera above his head whilst they made their way through the freezing water. Once out the other side a certain amount of hysterical laughter ensued...it was one of the daftest things they did on their Castle trips - and there wasn't even a Castle at the end of it!!!
The day was 24th May 1992 and this picture was taken by Andrew.
