GALLERY 2001 : Picture Sixty-Nine
Andrew standing on the Ponte Sant'Angelo with the Castel St. Angelo behind him. It was on this Castle's terrace overlooking the Tiber that Puccini set the climax of his masterwork, Tosca, in which the heroine throws herself off the terrace onto the ground below (always leave 'em laughing!). Andrew did visit the terrace but refrained from throwing himself off.
The day was 12th December 2001 and this picture was taken by an Italian man.
Other photos from Andrew's trip to Rome and the Vatican can be found at Pictures Seven, Twelve, Twenty-five, Twenty-eight, Thirty-one, Thirty-five, Forty-three, Forty-seven, Fifty-nine, Sixty-two, Eighty and Ninety.
