Buckinghamshire is a land-locked county to the north west of London. The Chiltern Hills cross the south of the county, with the Vale of Aylesbury crossing the centre. The far north of the county is flatter and dominated by the "modern" town of Milton Keynes.
The Castles of Buckinghamshire vary from the usual batch of motte and baileys to the bizzare Dinton Castle. The only medieval secular building in Buckinghamshire is Boarstall Tower.
