M
ARR CHURCH
Malta
The church in Mgarr is one of the newer churches of Malta. Construction work began only in 1912. It was intended to be built as a smaller version of the Mosta Dome Church. The odd shape of the dome is explained by the fact that the church was funded largely by locals selling eggs some 300,000 of them! Despite all this fund raising the church was not completed until 1946.
